The experiment was conducted at the Research Station for Sewage Treatment Plants, located in Sewage Treatment Plant, Goiania-GO. The experimental unit is composed of twelve treatment modules, filled with superposed layers of substrate. Six modules were vegetated with Vetiver grass and six modules remained without plants. For a period of 200 days, samples were collected from sewage before and after treatment and analyzed for the determination of ammonia nitrogen and total phosphorus, and calculation of efficiency in their removal, considering the rates of evapotranspiration. The results were subjected to F tests and Tukey at 5% probability.
