For this, we selected ten criticisms aired in 2010, five of each magazine. In the samples contained various films ranging from the national cinema, to the classic American and German art cinema. They are: Lula, o filho do Brasil, The Hurt Locker, Das Weisse Band, Whatever Works, As Melhores Coisas do Mundo, Sonhos Roubados, Un Prophète and O Bem Amado. Basing on the theories that define the importance of criticism and film analysis, the study aims to detect, in the texts analyzed, phrasal constructions that fall into three categories pre-established: commentary, analysis and interpretation.
