The project was undertaken with the assistance of the Government of Canada, through the . Two Canadian institutions had an important role in the initial investigation: The Canadian Children’s Book Centre (ccbc), in Toronto, and The Centre (crytc), at The University of Winnipeg, in Winnipeg. In Brazil, (fnlij) was an important source of research.
