Especially the fictional-scientific ones, which have reserved privileged representation spaces of the other, or the others, to whom monstrous nature is attributed. In the battles against these enemies, the communities self-appointed as us, representatives of the humanity, are in fact restricted to the social groups that hold the highest economical, technological and armed power. In the narratives analyzed in this article, the North-American society appears as the representative of humanity as a whole, in the battle against the threat brought by the others, who might well be the neighbors, immigrants, blacks, any foreigner, from unknown lands or from its own. All of them, aliens, allegedly invasive, against whom the attack is the best defense strategy.porAcesso AbertoCinemaFicção científicaAliensScientific fictionImagens de nós e dos outros nos filmes de ficção científicaArtigo10.5216/vis.v2i2.17910
