This work presented a methodology to design photovoltaic power systems, comprising the required steps taking into account the client power demand, available solar resource and physical characteristics of the installation. The presented methodology was applied to the study case, yielding an executive project comprised by physical definition of arrays and sub-arrays, PV modules and inverters sizing, as well as determination of electrical installation equipments such as cables and switching and protection devices. The PV system was designed with rated power at 1.004Wp at STC conditions and rated power at 800kW at the ac side, composed by 13 60kW inverters and one 20 kW inverter connected to 14 PV sub-arrays comprising 2.790 PV modules rated at 360Wp each.
