A motel from the 14'h century was taken as the prime example with lhe intention of establishing possible relationships between the formal structure of the work and lhe structures of the society. The aesthetic and socio-historic approach made possible lhe afirmation that lhe musical composition, taken as example, can be considered a representative support of the collective imagination with which has been interaged, as well as the changes of time inherent to that age. Under this condition, it was capable of suppartting a "multiple rime", to present three dimensions of meaning: actual, residual and latent. lt was a practice and a way of disseminating elements that would be basic to the starting of new ages.
