Introduces practices of digital preservation in the national and international literature in order to identify the Federal University of Goiás actions on this subject, intending to create an digital curation plan that includes the preservation of produced, stored and disseminated digital objects within this University. Presents as a conclusion the fact that digital preservation initiatives adopted at the Federal University of Goiás, although significant importance towards this goal, still constitute incipient and consequently insufficient to ensure the preservation of digital informational contingent of technical and scientific interest of their community academic . It is necessary to implement actions with broad approach, covering technical, organizational, cultural, financial and social issues.
