These aspects form the literary subject and are part of the new conscious that surrounds men and women. You can say that the modernist literature was born in the city and with this poet. As a “kaleidoscope full of energy”, he went deep in the abyss of the city to revel the beauty shapes and the cruelty created by modernization. His lyric accommodated itself to the city and its inhabitants; it connects the poet to the public by the dark and filthy side of their lives. With a deliberated insult – Hypocrite letcteur, mon semblable, mon frère! [Hypocrite reader, my fellow creature, my brother!] – Baudelaire speaks to his fellows. The obscurity of the lyric in Baudelaire fascinates, but at the same time it disconcerts. The magic in his word and his sense of mystery act deeply, although the comprehension remains disoriented.
