Through Camargo's master's thesis and the reports of former students of the school, we learned about the physical and pedagogical structure of the institution and listed, according to our proposal, important concepts of analysis and reflection, such as: mechanisms of power and control, Panopticism, torture and punishment, docilization of bodies, the idea of a political body and ideological instruments of merit and adequacy. In the development of this article, we found that Santana school had a Catholic religiosity direction, supported by teaching based on traditional pedagogical methodologies. This shows us how religion commanded actions in society, how it guided individuals through faith and presented a paradigmatic model of instruction shaped by the interests of society at that time. The Christian ideology imposed a social commitment with its students, so that they could achieve a social function that was extremely important for that time. With Foucault's approach, we are asked to reflect on how power expresses control over individuals, politicizing and dociling their bodies.
