The research addresses the topics of usability, digital library and information society on the prospects of access, dissemination and retrieval of information from the interface of the library. It brings the context of information society and its development in the face of new information and communication technologies, with the Internet and the web as a fundamental tool in the process of access and dissemination of information. It presents the digital library as a space for interaction and access to information and knowledge. Search in your process to evaluate the Biblioteca Digital Domínio Público on the usability precepts, through checklists and recommendation guides, associated with heuristics. About the methodological aspects, the research is configured in qualitative exploratory classification with structure of case study. The Biblioteca Digital Domínio Público evaluation is necessary to the extent that it made it possible to identify errors in the searched interface, in order to suggest corrections that can improve and develop the usability and interaction of the website in question.
