It was isolated Aí. nanum, Aí. gypseum, Aí. canis and T. mentagrophytes species. Aí. canis were found in 20 (25,64%) samples and 3 (3,85%) of these samples were cases of onychomicosis. Literature normaly report Aí. canis as a parasity of skin and hair but not of nails of white and Indians populations.
