The focus of the discussion presented is the 20th century, with special attention to the period between the 1960s and 1980s. The sources adopted were interviews with teachers that taught between the 1940s and 1960s, documents surveyed in the school Lyceu de Goiânia and legislation related to teachers education. Authors such as Roger Chartier, Dominique Julia and Diana Vidal composed the theoreticalmethodological background.
