An information professional's ideal profile together with the desirable personal characteristics for the mass media environment are proposed. The evolution of the documentation services in documentation centers is described. The case of Latinoamérica , when information transmitted by mass media, an agent who reduces the tows's ignorance and educates citizens, is examined.
