They refer to the case of the Brazilian football fans arrested in Bolivia following the death of a local teenager during a football match. The aim of this paper is to identify discursive constructions employed by the magazine to disqualify Bolivia. To do so, the main haracteristics of colonial discourse were taken, such as Said‟s dichotomy (1978) between the familiar and strange, Quijano‟s categories (2011) of primitive versus civilized and traditional versus modern, and Mills‟ generalization concept (2004), all of which seem to perpetuate an endocolonial discourse that favours relations of detachment and non-recognition among Latin American countries.porAcesso AbertoDiscurso endocolonialEndocolonial discourseRevista IstoÉBolíviaBoliviaIstoÉ magazineArtigo
