Resumo
Vertical distribution of mosquítoes of the genus Haemagogus and Sabethes, in
the urban region of Goiânia - Goiás - Brazil
The results of weekly captures of mosquitoes performed in Goiânia,
from January to December, 1992, are presented using simultaneously human
bait on the soií and at a 12-meter platform. Forty-two species were obtained
on the soil and 22 on the platform. Of these, Haemagogus (Haemagogus)
capricornii (Lutz, 1904) e Haemagogus (Conopostegus) leucocelaenus (Dyar &
Shannon, 1924) were registered in similar proportions both on the soil and
platform. A discrete tendency to feed on humans on the platform was
observed on Sabethes (Sabethoides) chloropterus (Humboldt, 1820), with a 6%
increase comparing to that on the soil. Nevertheless Sabethes (Sabethes)
belisarioi (Neiva, 1908) fed 6% more on the soil than on the platform.
Sabethes (Sabethes) purpureus (Theobald, 1907) was registered on the soil
(59%) and on the platform (41%). Sabethes (Sabethinus) intermedius (Lutz,
1904) was found in smaller numbers on the on the top of the trees (11%) and
soil (89%).
