Resumo
For the present experiment it was used five era sbred zebu steer from 16 to 18 months old with weight varying from 95 to 150 kilograms and all clinically healthy. They were stabled in individual stalls, receiving daily chopped forage "ad libtum" and one Kilograrn of balanced maintainance ration.
The animals were dosed with carbon tetrachloride diluted at 50 % in corn oi!, each animal from I to V respectiv! ly receiving a dose (ml/p/lw): O.l; 0.3; 0.5; 0.7 and 0.9. The carbon tetrachloride was administred by intraruminal puncture in the left flank.
The duration of the trial was 61 days. Fifty bl2 od samples were collected from the jugular vein. The serum 1 vels of glucose and mucoproteins were analysed by Photocoloriin,! ter. Hepatic samples were also collected and analysed.
