Sorovares de Salmonella isolados de carcaças de frangos de corte abatidos no Estado de Goiás, Brasil, e perfil de resistência a antimicrobianos

Resumo

The broiler industry is among the most important Brazilian agrobusiness sectors, and it´s now facing sanitary measures that have imposed strict market barriers in order to assure consumers a secure access to free pathogen products. With the objective to estimate the presence of Salmonella spp. in chicken produced in the State of Goiás, 96 carcasses of broilers slaughtered under federal inspection control, were sampled during the period from March to October, 2001. Samonella spp. was isolated and identified in 19 carcasses by classical bacteriologic methods. Five different serovars (S. Enteritidis, S. Livingstone, S. Muenster, S. Typhimurium, S. Heidelberg) were identified as well as multiple and crossed resistance to 14 antibiotic compounds that are frequently used by poultry production and by humans.
