Resumo
The effect of the mulching an growth and bulb production of garlic (Allium salivum L.) cv. 'Cateto Roxo', was evaluated. Toe soil cover treatments: rice slraw, rice husk, smoothing plane, cut grass and dry leaves of tree, was done just after planting ind in layers Just to cover the soil. It was concluded that mulching favoured initial growing and bulb production. Tested mterials were showed to be equivalent however with tendency to rice husk overcome the other ones.
