Resumo
The study comprises an effort to set up estimation of labor power demanded in a set of agricultura! activtties, related to crop systems and sazonality. It is based on empirical data collected from the extension oflicial service and direct information from farmers in ali agricultural regions of Goiás Sta.te. An analysis of secondary data from IBGE indicated regions of relevance in area and production of main crops and data files were created for crop pattems and labor usage, by region and estimations, proceeded using a software developed by Fundação Seade, in Campinas, São Paulo. The results show strong declines, over time, both in supply and demand for labor in agriculture in the studied area. Com and soybeans seem to be the basis for labor ,_ l:>sorption and so is sugar cane for their area extension, showinp: evidences of low diversity of agricultura! activities in the State.
