Resumo
In this paper I present a discussion and reflect
upon the theoretical work of João Bernardo, a Portuguese
Marxist historian. Emphasis is given on the concept of managers
(technocracy) as a dominant capitalist class and their institutional
power over the process of the capitalist mode of production. I also
further discuss the general organization of the conditions under
which production occurs, being it mediated by the institutional
Restricted State (public power); or on the control of production
and the attainment of surplus value, mediated by the institutional
Wide State (companies)
