Distribuição radicular de pequizeiro (Caryocar brasiliense Camb.)

Resumo

Among the native species identified as economically viable for the Brazilian Savanna, the souari nut has one of the greatest potentials. However, the cultivation of this plant in large- scale monoculture system in the Brazilian Savanna still seems risky and unsustainable due to lack of crop information techniques. Thus, studies that improve information techniques of this crop are important given the wide variety of uses of the plants. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the distribution of the root system, given that the characteristics of the roots are extremely important for proper conduct of the plants in the field, especially in terms of management of irrigation and fertilization. Thus, we evaluated the distribution of the root system of souari nut trees in environmental conditions of the Brazilian Savanna. Used three plants, of four years and three months (April 2013) of age, grown in Goiânia-GO. In the survey, the plants were spaced at 5 x 5 m, and soil cultivation was in a Red yellow latosol dystrophic (Oxisol) and a climate tropical Aw. For the evaluations were sampled volumes of soil, the auger and trench methods in five depths: 0.0 to 0.25, 0.25-0.50, 0.50 to 0.75; 0.75-1, 00; 1.00 to 1.25 and 1.25 to 1.50 m, and also the four distances from the stem: 0.0 to 0.4, 0.4-0.8, 0.8-1.2 and 1.2-1.6 m. The results showed poor distribution roots concentrated (80%) between 1.25 m depth and 1.6 m horizontal distance from the trunk.
