A peliculização deve ser feita antes ou após a embebição de sementes de tomate com paclobutrazol?

Resumo

The paclobutrazol increases resistance to abiotic and biotic stresses favoring the establishment of seedlings in the field. When the airing of this regulator is done through seed treatment, there are negative effects to the physiological quality of seeds. The film coating can assist in fixing of paclobutrazol in the integument of the seeds, though nobody knows for sure what is the best way of combination between the coating polymer and paclobutrazol. Thus, the objective of determining whether the film coating should be made before or after the soaking of tomato seeds (grow Giant Kada) with paclobutrazol based on potential physiological implications of seed and seedling production. It was the completely randomized design with six replicates. The treatments consisted of: soaking the seed in water; soaking the seed in paclobutrazol solution (50 mg L -1 ), film coating of seeds before or after soaking in paclobutrazol. The soaking of seeds with paclobutrazol, regardless of the time of film coating, has harmed the speed of germination and seedling emergence. There was a reduction of 17% on the first count in the germination test, 11% on seedling emergence and 57% in the index of seedling emergency speed, relative to the control. It is concluded that the height reduction promotes paclobutrazol seedlings but harms the physiological potential of seeds. The film coating as a vehicle for fixation of paclobutrazol is not indicated due to maintenance of reduced seedling emergence.
