Understanding the growth of a forest is important for forest management, to know productivity,
production cost as well as for estimating carbon stock in relation to the contribution of forests in mitigating climate
change. The objective of this study was to analyze volumetric estimates by cubing and form factor in comparison
to volumetric equations found in the literature in an integrated farming system in Cerrado biome (Brazil). The forest
under study is composed of clones of Eucalyptus grandis x E. urophylla in spatial arrangement with alleys with
trees spaced in 3 x 2 m and 14 m between alleys. The volumetry cubing as well as using the mean form factor resulted
in estimates similar to those found by fitting volume equations. The suggested equations validate the form factor
for estimates of eucalypt volume, suggesting the effectiveness of the equations available in the literature for the
volumetric estimates of homogeneous forests.
