Resumo
This article seeks to investigate the goiana agrarian society; more specifically that ofthe bigger cattle for slaughter fanners ofthe State ofGoiás. This preeminent section of the regional agrarian economy was legalized in 1940, with the organization ofthe Sociedade Goiana de Pecuaria (SGP), which was bom inside ofthe Vargas unions legislation and was framed in the corporate formatofthe Estado Novo (New State). Adjusted to the profileofthe relationship between State and society in lhe Brazil after 1930, il (SGP) becomes a collaboration agency with lhe governmenl authorities in lhe solutions ofproblems relaled to the cattle businesses in Goiás. As a represen1a1ive group of the great fanners' interes1, lhe association of rural producer's become an access channel of that social class to the power.
