Resumo
This article presents the main results of a research on values, beliefs, and social practices related to the sexuality of the students of the Federal University of Goiás. The research was carried out during the first semester of 2005 when 320 students answered a questionnaire with 130 questions. The most important finding is that there is a general representation of sexuality that converges in the maintenance of a pattern that we could name “conservative sexual modernization”. Although the answers signal a strong tendency of escaping from a view of sexuality as a gender hierarchy, “coitocentrismo”, and body cult, there still are great attachments to those views which show a tension between liberal conceptions of sexuality and a conformism to imperatives of a dominant sexual grammar.
