Resumo
The music has been used as a therapeutic element for treating various diseases. This
study investigated the use of music and music therapy related to blood pressure. We
conducted a systematic review using the Lilacs, Medline, SciELO (Scientific Electronic
Library Online) and BVS data - Virtual Health Library, having as descriptors: Music and
Health, Music and Hypertension, Music Therapy and Blood Pressure, Music and Blood
Pressure and its correlates in English and Spanish. Thirty six articles were included.
The results indicate positive responses to Music Therapy interventions, and these have
provided decline in anxiety levels, blood pressure, pain, relaxation, among others. It is
considered important the publication of researches conducted by music therapists in
indexed journals so that they can generate and promote the consistent results of these
professionals.,
