Resumo
This paper applies Weber‟s theory of spheres of society and looks at the context of the youth participating in the Catholic charismatic prayer movement. The purpose herein is to present an interpretation of the behavior of the youth with regard to affection and sexuality as well as religious leaders‟ reactions on the issue. There is evidence of a process of periodic renovation within the groups, in which a significant number of youth enters and leaves the groups. I argue that this rotation occurs primarily due to the relationship the youth has with the movement as it regards themes related to the practice of sexual intercourse and notions of the body.
