Identificação e teste de susceptibilidade a drogas de cepas de Mycobacterium tuberculosis isoladas de pacientes provenientes de Hospital Público de Referência, Goiânia/GO

Resumo

To identify and conduct susceptibility test of Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains, 206 clinical samples were isolated from pulmonary and extra-pulmonary forms, originating from 144 in- and out-patients of the Tropical Diseases Hospital from the Goiás State, by undergo Ziehl-Neelsen stain, cultures performed by the Lowenstein-Jensen and double phase system. The identification was based on growth in the presence of inhibiting agents, pigment production, growth time and biochemical testing, followed by the determination of susceptibility to anti-mycobacterial drugs. Thirteen samples (6.3%) were isolated, which 12 (92.3%) were identified as M. tuberculosis and one (7.7%) as M. avium Complex (MAC). From the isolated samples, 12 were sensitive to isoniazid, ethanbutol, rifampicin, streptomycin, pirazinamid and ethionamid. Only one sample was resistant to ioniazid, rifampicin, pi-razinamid and ethionamid.
