Two hundred and five sera from the fema-le population of Goiania, in the age group 15-35 years, was surveyed for the presence of hema-gglutination-inhibition antibodies against rubel-la, in order to elucidate some local aspects on the epidemiology of one of the ToRCH complex viruses. The percentage of non-immune indivi-duals (with titers G 1:8) was 10.2% (21/205). A group of pregnant women in the age group 20-30 years showed a total of 15.5% (11/71) sus-ceptibility. As a preventive measure, it is highly recommendable that women of childbearing age have a blood test done, as well as, the vaccina-tion of those considered as non-immune, accord ing to the individual situation.
