Resumo
This paper, belongs at the context of innovation management in
organizations, aims to propose a systematic way to develop new methods that assist
organizations in their innovation process. From an action research, which can contribute to
science while it solves that problem, work was undertaken with a research laboratory for
the development of a method of technology roadmapping, also known as TRM. The results
demonstrate that the limitations identified in the action research have further strengthened
the need to customize the development of methods to support innovation in organizations,
such as gaps in knowledge about the market presented by the researchers, who demanded
an additional effort of project team engaged in action research. As a suggestion for future
research, the performance of applications of the method developed in different organizations could certify the validity of action research procedures adopted for the
development of such a method.
