Resumo

It analyzes the reading conception of high school educators of the Center for Teaching and Applied Research in Education of the Federal University of Goiás (CEPAE / UFG). It employs exploratory research with descriptive content and qualitative approach. For data collection we used the questionnaire with open and multiple choice questions, answered by 14 educators. From the data collection, it was traced the age group of the participants, area and time of work, use of the internet, tools to support the content passed in the classroom, the reading conception and reading practices of the students in the educators perception. It was concluded that most of the participants have conceptions of reading registered to decoding, however, attributing to what was read a meaning, understanding or if it was read; there is also a concern about the superficiality of the readings made through the internet; and find it valid for all types of reading, but find it ideal for literary, scientific and informative reading.
