Resumo
The text presents partial results of an investigation being developed in the Graduate Program in Art and Visual Culture in the School of Visual Arts at the Federal University of Goiás (Brazil). The data has been collected in a public school in Goiânia, Goiás, with students from the 3rd year of Elementary School, and the study has its focus on the constitution of masculinities through a visual artifact: the soap opera “Rebeldes”. Qualitatively oriented, the investigation‟s theoretical referential underlies a poststructuralist perspective delineated by an ethnographic approach that uses interviews, field diary, focus groups and photographs as empirical material. The text discusses how the soap opera normative discourses influence students‟ behaviors, social relations and pedagogical practices in school contributing for the production of masculinities.
