Resumo
This study deals with the theme of preserving the bibliographic collection and its respective processes; aims to justify the importance of a small repair shop within the university library. The study qualifies as a case study, which uses the artifices of qualitative research to evaluate its results, aiming to reaffirm through the literature review and the report of the practical work, the importance of the work of preservation and restoration of collection, and thus show the results that the workshop at BSCAN offers the library and the academic community within its possibilities and estimate what could be delivered if the workshop had modern and specific devices for this type of service. It appears that the workshop delivers good results considering its resource and its structure, however the library could work on strategies to develop more incisive actions for and outline internal policies that think about the preservation of the collection.
