Resumo

This study is situated in the context of social research and its main goal was to analyze the work with the body, gestures and movements in the curricular organization of Preschool Education. The specific objectives were to identify the conceptions and guidelines of the work with the body, gestures, and movements with Preschool children from the document analysis of normative references; to understand the role of the area Preschool Education from the extended curriculum document for Preschool Education in Goiás and; to empirically analyze the pedagogical proposals developed in the perspective of work from the point of view of teachers working in RME Goiânia, Goiás-Brazil. For the theoretical foundation of this study a bibliographic review was carried out, which included articles, theses, dissertations, book chapters, and online publications of books that approached topics such as childhood, child, Preschool Education, and physical education. The normative documents for Early Childhood Education were analyzed in interface with Physical Education, body, gestures, and movements in documentary research. The field research was conducted through interviews with four teachers from different institutions of the municipal network of Preschool Education located in Goiânia to investigate which controversies emerge from the presence and work of the Physical Education teacher in this stage of Basic Education and how this teacher guides and materializes the pedagogical practice of the RME of the participating municipality. The interviews showed that there is still little knowledge about the curriculum documents, although they believe they are important advances in Brazilian education regarding Preschool Education and its relationship with Physical Education. It was possible to understand that, for them, working with the body, gestures, and movements favors the child's biopsychosocial development and essential skills for his/her future life.
