Resumo
The present work has as its theme the teaching and dissemination of football by Revista da Escola de Educação Física do Exército, between the years 1932 to 1942. Brazil between the decades of 1932-1942. The study was carried out through a research based on the bases of Cultural History (CERTEAU, 1982). Analyzing the journal, it was noticed the great importance and care in the dissemination of techniques for better football performance. In this way, we used the Institute for Research on Physical Training of the Army (IPCFEX) as a means of surveying the sources. 19 issues of the Magazine were selected according to the proposal, which contained the football theme and mainly the titles called “Study on Football”. The Magazine presented the exercises and illustrations about the correct movements to be executed. He emphasized game situations in which knowledge and mastery of technical fundamentals would be necessary. In our analysis, it is clear that the teaching of soccer techniques by the Revista collaborated with the nationalization of the sport in our country, since it disclosed its fundamentals and “Brazilianized” its original names.
