Resumo
This work highlights the importance of accessibility in university libraries, responsible for
monitoring the student from beginning to end of the course, with the primary purposes of
supporting research and promote access to information. Since the focus of analysis to the
accessibility for the visually impaired, the library must have adaptation and a structure
designed to meet this type of user. The librarian is responsible for mediating access to
information, enabling the disabled as visually impaired, they are the focus of this work, have
access to information. Interviews were conducted with the librarians in charge of Reference
Section of the Library's Central UFG and Library Braille of Goi nia. The site visits were
aimed compose a diagnosis of the Central Library in relation to accessibility and to envision a
reference for building services and infrastructure available for the visually impaired in Braille
Library. Through the results obtained in field work and relevant information contained in the
legislation and review of literature on the subject, it was suggested a proposal for accessibility
Central Library, which included equipment, software and services for the visually impaired. It
is expected, is contributing effectively in the project to reformulation the system of
university s libraries.
