Resumo
As the technological evolution developed, there was also an exponential
growth in the worldwide literary production. Within this reality and mediated by new
technologies, it is presented the distance learning system, also know as e-learning,
which consists of a method of teaching and learning that the students and teachers are
physically apart but virtually connected. This one uses the technology to enrich and
contribute to the sharing of knowledge, supporting and keeping them in touch,
independently of the geographical localization. Some teachers work as authors,
producing teaching materials in order to make them available in the virtual environment
for students, with the goal to enrich the teaching and allow greater learning. The Federal
University in the state of Goias (UFG) offers e-learning courses via the Center for
Integrated Learning Network (CIAR ) which helps the development of courses with
support to the technology and education. This research examined the procedures
adopted by CIAR to protect the copyrights of available material on the network. I
noticed that the department mentioned above is concerned with the rights that the author
has produced about the work and follows some procedures in order to protect the author
and the University intellectual property.
