Resumo

The Cartesian system represents a fundamental foundation in the constitution of the modern thought. Descartes operates an ontological rupture between mind and body, since that, they have got to be radically distinct. The body, as a matter, is seen as a machine, an object that can be measured, conformed, patronized, legitimating excluding practices. It’s essential to seek a view that considers the subjectivity of the body, in a way that can range the differences and particularities. Michel Henry proposes na ontology of the subjective body, in which “we are a body”, and not “we own a body”. This corporality points to an including view, where the body cannot be measured according to its parts and efficiency. Starting from the distinctions about the different conceptions about the body, we propose to analyze the illustrations of “O Almanaque”, part of the newspaper “O Popular”, devoted to the children. We are going to “read” the images to identify its conceptions of the body.
