Introduction: With the exception of non-melanoma skin cancer, breast cancer has the highest incidence in women. From diagnosis to years after treatment, women affected by this disease are affected by some level of anxiety. Objectives: To compare the acute response of resistance training on the anxiety state of women who have survived breast cancer. Methodology: 10 volunteers, breast cancer survivors, undergoing hormone therapy participated in this study. This was developed in partnership with the Hospital das Clínicas of the Federal University of Goiás. The volunteers went through the inclusion-exclusion criteria, took tests and then carried out an intervention protocol with resistance training, having answered pre-State-Trait Anxiety Inventory scales. and post exercise. Results: The average trait anxiety of the volunteers was 38.6 ± 12.71, and state anxiety 31.4 ± 5.16 before the intervention, after the exercise the average was 31.9 ± 6.29, if keeping it at a moderate level. Conclusion: The study in question found that just one session of resistance training was not enough to reduce anxiety in these volunteers.
