Resumo
This paper reports on the development of the outreach project entitled ‘Tea chers of Portuguese in reflection’, sponsored by Portuguese teachers at the Cen ter for Teaching and Applied Research in Education – Cepae/UFG. This pro ject, open to primary and high school personnel in public schools, consisted of
organizing and holding debates - in the form of short courses and workshops - on the
teaching of the Portuguese language. By reflecting on the concepts that guide the tea cher of Portuguese in the classroom it hoped to bring about changes in literacy practices.
