Resumo
Ideas developed in this article summarize the results of a research conducted by the author about social and human sciences in Goiás. They were fully developed in his doctoral dissertation submitted to Universidade de São Paulo in 1993 and are referred to the reconstruction of the programa forte in the sociology of science. The point argued here is that socioeconomic developement variants constitute the explanatory models formulated by researchers about Goiás. As a result, the author concludes that, beyond theoretical and methodological definitions, such models intend to build more than a scientific discourse. ln fact, their goal is to construct an identity: goianidade.
