Resumo
Burns can cause sequelae and cause physical and psychological pain. The present study proposed to investigate the
effects of Music Therapy on the reduction of pain in burn victims who are in the process of changing dressings. Each
patient had two meetings with the music therapist, after the moment of dressing change, being an encounter with the
performance of a music therapy intervention and the other not. The quantitative data were collected from the Faces
Scale and the qualitative data were collected from the patients’ testimonies. Music Therapy has been shown to be
effective in reducing pain levels in burn victims, both physically and emotionally.
