Resumo
This article’s purpose is to demonstrate how the free market environmentalism practices
would be stimulated by mitigating the restrictions to the aquisition of brazilian land by
foreigners imposed by the Law 5.709/71. It will also be exposed the ecological, economical
and social negative consequences, such as the agrarian reform impracticability, the large
unproductive landholdings formation and the intensification of a market for buying and
selling rights to pollute and deforest.
