For this purpose, we analyze the historical development of for languages of the family: Tupinambá, Apyãwa, Guajá and Nheengatú. The paper defends the hypothesis that the adverbial expressions moved to the first position of the sentence trigger a nominalization of the predicate, which used to function in the basic clause as main predicate. Moreover, we present a possible interpretation for the historical development of these constructions and we associate their characteristics different degrees of preservation of the omnipredicative pattern. As result, we observe that the reduction of the productivity of the construction seems to be associated to a gradual loss of omnipredicative property of the languages.porAcesso Abertohttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Tupí-Guaraní language familyNominalizationIndicative IIOmnipredicativityHistorical syntaxLínguas Tupí-GuaraníNominalizaçãoIndicativo IIOmnipredicatividadeSintaxe históricaIndicativo II da família Tupí-Guaraní: uma questão de modo?Artigohttps://doi.org/10.20396/liames.v17i1.8646480
