In Brazil, it runs on the premium channel HBO and achieved success in a time when vampires have been highly explored as a theme in Hollywood motion pictures. The story is set in a small fictional town in Louisiana called Bon Temps. It features the vampires' attempts at their “integration” into the American society after the invention of a synthetic blood, after which the series was named. In this work, I consider how issues of sexism, homophobia and racism appear in the first season of the series and are related, directly or metaphorically, to the vampire's “coming out”.porAcesso AbertoGêneroSexualidadeHomossexualidadeHomofobiaMasculinidadeMídiaGenderSexualityHomosexualityHomophobiaMasculinityMediaOs vampiros saem do armário: um olhar antropológico sobre True BloodThe vampires are coming out: an anthropological look on True BloodArtigo
