As specific objectives, we intend to verify the areas of information science and library science in which AI applications in libraries are being developed, understand the sub-areas of AI that are being developed in libraries, and point out the challenges of incorporating this emerging technology from the recovered works. The nature of the research is basic, in terms of objectives it is descriptive and exploratory, with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out in the databases indexed on CAPES portal and Brapci database. The highlighted area of AI application in libraries or information units is Scientific Production and Communication, whose impacts are on the flow of scientific information, infrastructures and ethical aspects for research production.
