Methods:An analytical, quantitative, cross-sectional study carried out in a public university hospital in Brazil. The study included 314 patients admitted tothe ICU, diagnosed with COVID-19 by RT-PCR or RT-LAMP, and with positive serology for toxoplasmosis by ELISA IgM and IgM. Results:A high seroprevalence of toxoplasmosis was identified in patients with COVID-19 (78.1%). A small percentage of hospitalized patients already had some kidney problem before admission. Of the patients admitted to the ICU who presented with AKF, 42.9% developed the need for renal replacement therapy. Discussion:No significant results were associated with acute renal failure with toxoplasmosis in patients with COVID-19. But, SARS-CoV-2 associated with coinfection by T. gondii, can worsen clinical manifestations.porAcesso Abertohttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/COVID-19Insuficiência renal agudaToxoplasma gondiiToxoplasmoseCOVID-19Acute renal failureToxoplasma gondiiToxoplasmosisPerfil clínico e sociodemográfico de pacientes internados em uma unidade de terapia intensivacom insuficiência renal aguda e coinfecção por toxoplasmose e COVID-19Clinical and sociodemographic profile of a group of patients admitted to an intensive care unit with acute kidney injury and toxoplasmosis-COVID-19-coinfectionArtigo10.18606/2318-1419/amazonia.sci.health.v13n2p235-251
