It takes CETPA as a starting point for topics such as the challenges of conducting historical research on comics in Brazil. It underscores the absence of comics’archival policiesandthe contested nature of comics memories. Within thisframework, Bingo–a comic strip created by Aylton Thomaz –emerges as particularly significant for offering one of the rare representations of Black childhood in Brazilian comics. Set in Rio de Janeiro and grounded in popular and urban practices, it challenges stereotypes and opens space for new readings on Blackness and popular culture.
