In contrast, there were interactíon between trypomastigotes culture forms and mouse macrophages with infection of 50% of cells in monolayers and the number of intracellular amastigotes is very scarce: 2 or 4; no replication of the parasite was observed. Various degenerate cells were observed. The no invasives (amastigotes) forms infected only 10% of macrophages, and replication was not observed. Both the percentage of cells infected and the number of intracellular amastigotes decreased with time in culture.
