Renal secondary hyperparathyroidism (RSH) is a major endocrine disorder that occurs as a complication of CKD due to reduced production of calcitriol by the kidneys and phosphorus retention by renal failure . Prevention of RSH is the proper treatment of CKD itself and aims to prevent the consequences of HSR as fibrous osteodystrophy, known as " rubber jaw " and soft tissue calcification . Deficiencies of calcitriol and erythropoietin are also important endocrinopathies caused by CKD and need to be properly diagnosed and appropriate in order to prevent early mortality of patients treatment.porAcesso AbertoCalcitriolCaninosEritropoietinaHiperparatireoidismoCalcitriolCaninesErythropoietinHyperparathyroidismDistúrbios endócrinos na doença renal crônica em cãesEndocrine disturbs in chronic kidney disease in dogs: a reviewArtigo
